A Payroll Officer is responsible for managing and calculating the wages and salaries of employees within an organisation. They ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time by handling all payroll related transactions. Payroll Officers must maintain accurate records, handle tax-related tasks and manage benefits such as superannuation and leave balances. They often work within the finance or HR departments of businesses across a range of industries, including corporations, government agencies or small businesses. Additionally, they liaise with both employees and management frequently to resolve any payroll discrepancies and provide reports as needed.
