Legal Executives assist solicitors and barristers in handling legal matters. They primarily deal with responsibilities such as client interviews, paperwork drafting and legal research. Legal Executives can specialise in various fields of law such as family, criminal, corporate or property law. They typically operate in law firms, corporate legal departments, property firms or government bodies.
Tasks and duties
- Meeting with clients to provide advice and initiate legal proceedings.
- Preparing legal documents such as contracts, wills and deeds.
- Researching to support legal proceedings and stay updated on new laws and regulations.
- Coordinating with barristers and solicitors to arrange court details and case management.
- Liaising with professionals from other disciplines to gather evidence or details pertinent to cases.
- Organising large volumes of documents and correspondence, including filing and archiving.
- Maintaining accurate billing and financial records.
