Panasonic Corporation was incorporated in 1918 and with its primary global brand Panasonic, it has grown to become one of the largest electronic companies in the world today and globally employs more than 366,000 employees (as at 31st March 2011).

Panasonic sees great potential in the solar industry and is investing about 45 billion Yen (approximately 1.8 billion Ringgit Malaysia) in a manufacturing facility based in Kulim, Kedah, whereby this manufacturing facility is scheduled to commence operation in December 2012 with an annual production capacity of 300 MW.

We are now looking for highly qualified candidates to be part of our pioneer team in this new solar manufacturing base, namely Panasonic Energy Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. located in Kulim, Kedah which will operate as a vertically-integrated solar manufacturing facility producing various products from wafers to cells and modules.

SENIOR LOGISTIC EXECUTIVE
(Kedah - KULIM HI TECH)

Responsibilities:

• In Charge of daily shipping coordination including the incoming/outgoing shipment.
• Able to coordinate with shipping forwarding agent on vessels booking, container truck & cargo pick up for smooth operation flow etc.
• To liaise, follow up with customer officer, forwarding agent and others who are involved in custom clearance matters for incoming and outgoing shipment.
• Liaise with internal department(s) to ensure that shipment would always be on schedule.
• Possess good knowledge of flow of documents, ocean freight and logistic procedures.
• Compliance and maintain to Government agencies and Customs Departments procedures.
• Ensure timely preparation of accurate weekly/monthly reports;
• Continuously review and upgrade/update logistics system and processes to improve cycle time and accuracy to reduce costs.

Requirements:

• Degree in Logistic/Transportation, or equivalent.
• Possess good customer service skills in handling customer's issues.
• At least 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Preferably Senior Executive specializing in Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent.
• Team player and independent.
• Japanese speakers would indeed have added advantage.
• With excellent communication skills both speaking and writing abilities in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Japanese speakers would indeed have added advantage.
• Computer literate in Microsoft, Lotus, SAP, and other industry applications.
