KEMAMAN BITUMEN COMPANY SDN BHD (KBC) is operating an oil refinery in Kemaman, Terengganu, primarily to produce bitumen and other oil products. 
 
Oil refining is a complex process that involves processing hydrocarbons at elevated temperatures and pressures, in order to produce the various petroleum products that we use. The equipment that is used in controlling the process is large, technically complex and expensive.
 
The operations team at the refinery is responsible for ensuring that the equipment is operated in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with KBC’s SOP and the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. We need you as "Operation Technician" to support in wide range of different responsibilities.

 OPERATION TECHNICIAN
(Terengganu - Kemaman)

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring correct operation of various refinery equipment ; Plant Onsite & Offsite Sections – crude, vacuum, sour water system, marine & jetty, pumps, compressors, turbines, exchangers, valves, pressure vessels, tanks etc.
  • Minor troubleshooting of process problems
  • Conducting mechanical tasks such as process monitoring, sampling and testing, preparing and isolating equipment for maintenance
  • Conducting and understanding product testing in a mini laboratory

Requirements:

  • SPM with passes in Maths, English and Science preferably with Diploma/Certificate from Institut Teknologi Petroleum Petronas (INSTEP) or equivalent
  • Must have more than 2 years experience of Refinery, Petrochemical or Gas plant on the job operation experience
  • Ability to quickly analyze operating data and draw conclusions and take action concerning operating conditions.
  • Knowledge of operating process control computers.
  • Be able to communicate in English
  • Able to work on 24/7 rotating roster including public holidays (working a 4-day cycle of 2 x 12 hour days and 2 x 12 hour nights)
