SALES & MARKETING EXECUTIVE
(Kepong Industrial Park (KIP))

Responsibilities:

External
  • maintaining and developing professional relationships with existing customers via meetings, telephone calls and emails
  • visiting potential customers to prospect for new business, identifying new markets and business opportunities
  • continuously researching and gathering relevant market potential and customer needs
  • gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements
  • making accurate, rapid cost calculations, and providing customers with quotations
  • feeding future buying trends back to employers
  • negotiating the terms of an agreement, and closing business deals
  • solving customer issues  on all matters pertaining payment issues, discrepancy in goods, credibility etc.
  • servicing outdoor customers by visiting them monthly to promote MES products, collect orders and overdue payments.
  • monitoring  and expediting overdue accounts in planned time frame.
  • updating customer’s record on changes of address, terms or company’s name immediately upon receiving customer information changes.
  • representing MES at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations

 

Internal

  • reviewing own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed sales targets for higher commission
  • reporting to the Sales/Business Development Manager on a regular basis in writing
  • consulting  variations in price, delivery and specifications with the Manager
  • work closely with relevant departments on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions
  • keeping up to date of the quantities of goods on display and in stock, progress of existing orders
  • recording sales and order information and sending copies to the sales office
  • identifying market situation by generating regular report consisting of market trend, competitor status, product survey and others deemed necessary, for the management to review and suggest action to be taken.
  • identifying all customers’ complaints and satisfaction analysis by generating regular reports, for improvements to be done by the company.
 
 

Requirements:

  • Experience in the Education industry or FMCG products would be an added advantage.  Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Marketing or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in Teaching and Learning Aids, Books, and School Requirement Products line, with a combination of sales and marketing, strategic planning, market development, or business development experience is preferable.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work as a team within a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and customer service-orientated skills.
  • Good organization, presentation and problem solving skills.
  • Willing to travel outstation up to 65% for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex issues into clearly stated tasks with defined implications and consequences.
  • Demonstrated commitment to completing tasks and objectives.
  • Flexibility to work long and unpredictable hours when required.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times, always open to feedback and on-going self development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Knowledge in SOP will be an added advantage.
  • Preferably  male candidate must possess at least a Higher Secondary/STPM/"A" Level/Pre-U, Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, in any field.
  • A consistently good record in sales management role, showing good potential to lead others.
  • Past record of motivating others towards achievement of ambitious targets and attaining higher levels of performance will be an added advantage.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English. Chinese would be an added advantage.
  • At least 25 years of age, with years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Kepong Industrial Park, with occasional outstation schedules.
  • Preferably Managers specializing in extensive networking travelling throughout East & West Malaysia.
  • At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably Junior Executives specializing in Sales - Retail/General or equivalent.
